I wonder how many people actually know the definition of the word “metaphysics.” These are the things I like to talk about and the topics I will be writing about on this website. There is nothing about metaphysics that is frightening. It is a fascinating topic. It is not a category that has answers, in fact, it examines the questions that remain shrouded in mystery. Why would anyone think that is taboo? Always remember that if we are forbidden the right to ask questions, any questions at all, we are victims of intellectual oppression. Of course we should ponder the unknown. How else do we keep evolving, growing and strengthening our minds? What logic exists that says we must only think about what is already known and the unknown is not allowed? How would one discover anything new if entire categories of thinking were forbidden? To me, that is unthinkable and makes no sense. It also sounds like a scene in a movie about an ancient civilization with laws that keep the people subservient.
Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that explores the nature of being, existence, and reality. Metaphysics seeks to answer, in a “suitably abstract and fully general manner”, the questions: What is there? And what is it like? Wikipedia
- Metaphysics… analyzes the generic traits manifested by existences of any kind
b: abstract philosophical studies: a study of what is outside objective experience
- steered philosophy away from metaphysics and toward the disciplines of natural science and linguistics
Abstract theory or talk with no basis in reality.“his concept of society as an organic entity is, for market liberals, simply metaphysics.”
This is the definition of Metaphysics I subscribe to:
Metaphysics acknowledges and respects the beauty in ALL of God’s Creation.
Metaphysics is religion without dogma.
Metaphysics does not explore religious beliefs and laws created by man, but rather, it explores the immutable laws of nature, set by The Creator, God/Universal Presence, in the creation of the Universe.
Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that studies the ultimate nature of existence, reality, and experience without being bound to any one theological doctrine or dogma.
Metaphysics includes all religions but transcends them all.
Metaphysics is the study of ultimate cause in the Universe.
Metaphysics is the only science capable of inquiring beyond physical and human science.
